1929 REO Flying Clouds

We are the proud owners of two, Genuine 1929 Reo Flying Clouds, and with only 86 left worldwide, our two are the only ones of this model and year in Great Britain.

Both of the vehicles are Old English White in colour, a choice made as both white and ivory gowns will stand out beautifully against the cars. The interior of these REOs are mink in colour.

The cars arrive fully adorned with wedding ribbons and interior decoration, for which we will endeavour to match the colour theme of your wedding.

For a brief history of the 1929 REO Flying Cloud, see below.

The two Reo Flying Clouds have their own distinguishable features, one being the Master Flying Cloud, which has two spare wheels situated on either side of the car on the running boards.  The second, being a Flying Cloud Mate, which has wooden spoke (ash) wheels and only one spare wheel, which is situated at the rear of the car.  These feature attribute to the individuality of these cars.

History of the 1929 REO Flying Cloud

Ransom Eli Olds founded REO in 1904 and by 1917 was producing more cars then rival makers in the medium price range. After 1923, car production gradually fell and by 1929 only 11,00 units of all models were built. However, what they did build was of exceptional quality. The Flying Cloud was generally acknowledges as the finest car in its range.

We are proud to say that these two beautiful, genuine vintage wedding cars are the only two of their kind in the  United Kingdom, and outside of the American continent, while only 86 Flying Clouds are known to survive worldwide.

Our first REO was purchased by the previous owners from Morgantown, West Virginia in 1988. This car received a professional body off restoration in 1974.

Our second REO, with the wooden wheels, was from Twin Falls, Idaho, North West America in May 2006. She has been fully refurbished, with a body off restoration in 2007.
